The Centre for Rare Diseases Ruhr - CeSER

The Center For Rare Diseases Ruhr (CeSER) is a University Competence Center attached to the Ruhr-University Bochum and the University of Witten/Herdecke.

The Center facilitates multidisciplinary cooperation between highly qualified experts and institutions by providing optimal conditions to improve access to treatment and diagnosis for people affected by a Rare or suspected Rare Disease.

CeSER’s Coordination Center (A-Center) is located at the St. Josef-Hospital in Bochum. The Center provides services for patients, their families, doctors and researchers for the optimal management of healthcare for a group of diseases that are called ‘rare’ but actually affect over 30 million Europeans.

Together we are committed in pooling knowledge and resources with our national and international partners to find the most appropriate and best way to diagnose, treat and cure Rare Diseases in the heart of the Ruhr Valley.
